Dr. Lubell is a member of the Mathematical and Economic Modelling Group headed by Dr Lisa White at the Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit in Bangkok. Within the group he leads the economics team, focusing primarily on the evaluation of diagnostics, treatments and vaccines for infectious diseases. He sees the objective of this work as providing practical policy recommendations by merging evidence from a broad range of research areas within analytical economic models. Recently the Centre has focused on merging of epidemiological dynamic models and economic analyses, with the aim of capturing costs and benefits of interventions at the population level such as their impact on disease transmission and the development of antimicrobial resistance.
