This volume brings together issues around a topic which is new for DCP3. It seeks to evolve beyond the acute and severe conditions traditionally addressed under the rubric of child health, and give emphasis to the longer run consequences of chronic illnesses and chronic malnutrition (including NCDs) and the impacts on growth and cognitive development. It will emphasize, although not be exclusive to, school-age children and adolescents. Geographic patterns of risk and morbidity will be discussed.
