Caris Grimes

Caris Grimes, BSc, MBBS, MRCS, is a registrar in General and Colorectal Surgery and a Global Surgery Affiliate at Kings Centre for Global Health. Born and brought up in West Africa, she has maintained a longstanding interest in health and disease in low income countries. She is a founding member of both the International Collaboration for Essential Surgery (www.essentialsurgery.com) and Links in Africa for Surgical Training (www.last-surgery. org.uk). She has a research interest both in burden of surgical disease in low income countries, and in the cost-effectiveness of providing essential surgical care.
