Frances Aboud

Global Health Programs, McGill University

Professor Aboud conducts research on the development of children, in particular their cognitive and social development, as well as health behavior change. She works mainly in south and south-east Asia and east Africa, having lived for several years in Ethiopia and Bangladesh. Her current research focuses on mental development in the early childhood period as affected by interventions related to stimulation, nutrition, and hygiene.  In particular, she helps international and local NGOs to improve their early childhood programs in education and nutrition by evaluating existing programs, suggesting improvements and then evaluating the benefits.
